About the role

Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Ft Worth District with a duty station of Ft. Worth, TX. See "Additional Information" below for details.

Duties

Plans, develops and establishes long and short range procurement plans, strategies and approaches for the overall acquisition program.,Advises program officials in procurement planning meetings of the procurement objectives to be used and explores new or innovative contracting approaches to arrive at an equitable contract management.,Serves as lead negotiator, planning the negotiation strategy, coordinating strategy with the negotiation team and leading the negotiations conducted with contractors to reach and a fair and reasonable position for all parties involved.,Responsible for contract administration functions following contract award throughout the life of the contract.,Monitors and ensures contractor performance in accordance with all terms and conditions of the contract.

This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) Engineers & Scientists (Construction) Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term Appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term Appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
